Portrush Playhouse Presents a Real Sunday Night treat to our Shores for all Music Lovers with the Awesome French Ska Band ‘Les Skalopes’.

There’s been quite a few gigs, miles, countries, friendships & unforgettable memories since the band started in 1997.
6 musicians, standing firm on the ground to spit out their punk-influenced ska music, a wicked alternative kind which fully expresses itself on stage.
They have walked more than 400 venues floors, gigging & touring, and they sure will walk a lot more as their audience grows wider.

DIY & self produced, their energy has driven them all over France, of course, but also abroad. Over 15 countries have been visitied : Ireland, Wales, Engalnd, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania, Tzech Republic, Germany, Kosovo and there’s no stoping them to how far they will go.

In 2010, Les Skalopes release their second album « Ya vendrá mi turno » featuring 16 songs about life and its darkest times, for as full of spice as this band can be, their music will most likely strike your heart and your soul. Whether the lyrics be in French, Spanish or English, their music will take you on a melancholic rockin party.

The stage has always been their main motivation, allowing them to master their sound and their influences, ranging from the 2tone ska of The Specials or Madness, to the alternative rock of Mano Negra or the Punk rock of The Clash or Rancid.
Always ready to hit the road with the truck loaded, new projects & goals aren’t gonna go lacking for them anytime soon, as nothing can stop their will to play with & for their audience.
